« Even Stephen » Campaign started
to assist the P.M. and his family
It is just not right.
The Prime Minister of Canada should be paid for his work. But according to the summary disclosure report prepared by federal Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner, Mary Dawson, the Rt. Hon. Stephen Joseph Harper receives no income from the Government of Canada.
To rectify this gross injustice, Jack Locke is starting a fundraising effort to pay the Prime Minister of Canada. « No Prime Minister should have to receive donations under the table, » insists Locke.
Thus, all donations sent to Locke shall be fully accounted for and promptly turned over to the Prime Minister. In the event of profuse humility he refuses this charity, the funds will be given to a registered non-profit organization for the betterment of Canada.
According to the Prime Minister’s public disclosure summary, the only assets or income the Prime Minister possesses are held by his wife, Laureen, and presents only an “Investment account with Raymond James Ltd., composed in part of publicly traded securities.”
Why the Prime Minister’s disclosure summary fails to indicate income from the Government of Canada remains a mystery. According to the Democracy Law Blog writer, lawyer Clayton Whitman, the government disclosure summaries do not disclose many details.
“While these summaries are available to the public, the information contained in them is quite limited,” writes Whitman.
